Traditional - GIFT CARD PROGRAM - Raising Money Through Everyday Shopping from Major Retailers
The gift card program enables you to order gift cards for many retailers, restaurants, travel, etc. at no additional cost than what you would purchase them for in the stores, however Simpson gets a percentage of the amount you are purchasing and you don’t have to leave your house to buy them. For instance, if you purchase a gift card from Macy’s for $100.00, you will receive a gift card for that amount and our church will receive 10% ($10.00). There is a large list of retailers available. So, whether you are looking to buy a gift or just using them at the places you would regularly frequent, there is a large profit to be made. All proceeds will go toward the Building Fund.
As I am just starting up this new program, I will be taking orders every few months to see what kind of demand there is. Further information will be provided as to when orders need to be in by and when you will receive your orders. If there is a great demand I will be putting in orders more frequently.
The list is below. As it is four pages, if you do not wish to print it each time you order, you can just print the last order page form and fill out the requested information. Please either provide the list and payment to me in church or you may leave it in my drawer in the chapel. Cash and checks only, please. Checks can be made out to Simpson United Methodist Church.

Online - GIFT CARD PROGRAM – “SHOPWITHSCRIP”

The Gift Card Program offers organizations’ families and individuals the ability to order gift cards online using PrestoPay - monies are deducted through the families’ bank accounts and deposited into the Simpson Gift Card account where the rebates will be deducted (a $0.15 charge will be applied through PrestoPay). I will release these orders on a scheduled date to be determined. This would eliminate much of the order forms, paperwork, collection of funds and reconciliation of the same which is very time consuming.
Families can download the ShopWithScrip software and use our organizations enrollment code, which I will provide. Please note the enrollment code will not be posted on our website, as it should be kept confidential. Attached are general guidelines to set up ShopWithScrip on your computer. Through this software families could make changes to their orders before the order deadline. Families will also be able to view their order history including contributions to Simpson. The software is user friendly and has a user’s guide to help you with any questions you may have.
This program would also enable families to use RELOADABLE gift cards which can reduce shipping costs as, funds will be available much faster than ordering a new gift card. Overnight options are available as well. Once a gift card is purchased through our program these cards can be reused. At this time there are 24 brands available and the scrip company is working on adding other restaurants and retailers. The reloadable cards that are available now are:

Also available through ShopWithScrip are Scripnow eCards. This enables families to print out the eCards directly from their printers. Again there is no shipping cost, the coordinator does not need to be involved and all rebates are deposited into our Simpson Gift Card account.

The scrip company is also trying to obtain more retailers to come on board with this program as well. The reloadable and eCards would be beneficial to sales in our summer months since there is no interaction with the coordinator.
For those who are not comfortable using PrestoPay or ordering online I would be happy to continue to collect orders a few times a year as I did in the past.
Aside from the new programs available, I wanted the congregation to be advised of the restaurant.com gift card that is available. When you order a restaurant.com card you can purchase a $50 gift card for $25 ($20 for our program). There are some conditions such as a 2 entrée minimum, 18% gratuity added prior to discount, not valid on holidays, etc. Each restaurant is different and the details are listed on their website for each one. To view what restaurants are available you would have to go on their website “restaurant.com” (please note it is not the same as “restaurants.com” plural). Some of the local restaurants I viewed are Old Bay in New Brunswick, Christie’s Steakhouse in Edison, Palumbo’s in Old Bridge, Court Jester in Matawan and Thai Shangrila Thai Restaurant in Old Bridge. I believe once you are on their website you can enter a zip code and it will display the restaurants available.
The next order that I will place for Simpson will be on April 10th. For those of you who would like to take advantage of the reloadable cards, eCards and reports available through ShopWithScrip, please sign up as soon as possible in case you have any questions or concerns. The absolute last day to order will be April 10th. For those of you who do not wish to use ShopWithScrip, I will be collecting orders and payments from March 20th through April 10th. These orders will be available on April 24th. Please keep in mind, besides using these gift cards for your own use, I am ordering in time to provide you with gift cards for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, graduations, Communions/Confirmations/ and teacher’s gifts. And, of course, if you would like to use the reloadable cards (great for summertime since I will not be placing any orders during those months), you need to order those now as well.
Please do not order supermarket gift cards as this will take away from our Supermarket Gift Card Fundraiser that Anita provides for our church’s general funds!!!!!
