The primary focus of our committee is to serve
God and His people, locally and nationally. We have many programs which
help us attain that goal and are always striving for new ways to reach
out to God's people. The areas of Outreach we are actively participating
in are:
Elijah's
Promise Soup Kitchen - serving
dinner to the homeless and needy in our area.
Soup's
On Wheels Program - assembling
and delivering lunch to the shut-ins and infirm in our congregation
and community.
Food
Pantry - maintaining
a pantry of dry goods for those in need, open to everyone.
Monthly
Food Basket - in
conjunction with the local agency ofOld Bridge, we collect and distribute
a food basket to a family in need on a monthly basis. (During the Advent
and Lenten seasons, we deliver 6 or more baskets during the month)
Communion
Offerings - our
communion offerings each month go to a variety of Mission/Outreach
areas. Some examples are: Women Aware-a shelter for battered women,
UMCOR for various disaster relief needs, Elijah's Promise, Missionaries
and more too numerous to name.
Pennies
For Missions - our
newest program, is designed to raise funds for various Mission/Outreach
needs. We collect pennies from anyone who wants to donate. We periodically
cash them in and use the money towards programs.
Walk
For Ages - we
currently participate in this annual event for the United Methodist
Homes.
Crop
Walk - we
support our area food banks by participating in this walk.
We continue to seek God's will for our Mission and ask His guidance and blessing upon our work. May we always glorify Him in our service.
