![]() Our Purpose: The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church. We are a community of women... Becoming a member of the United Methodist Women involves commitment to the field of mission. Your presence is the most important thing. Being a part of the whole increases the UMW’s ability to make a difference in the lives of people locally, nationally and globally. In today’s society, it is much more difficult to recruit members. Many reasons are understandable. Young women and mothers in particular, are bombarded by pressures from involvement in activities outside the church. There is little time for any one thing. But, do you know that United Methodist Women is an inclusive organization that invites the participation of ALL women? Every woman from a variety of experiences and background, with diverse interests, skills, and expertise are most welcome. Diversity of membership helps each unit grow into one that truly lives out the purpose of United Methodist Women. The UMW of Simpson is involved in local and world missions by way of financial support and item collections as requested by needy organizations. Our UMW supports our local church in all fund raising events, as well as our adopted daughter, Claudia who lives in Africa, the Neighborhood Center in Camden and the Interfaith Network of Care (INC). Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month, September through June at 7:30. The December and June meetings are informal, social events either partially catered at the church or in a local restaurant. Any special events will be placed in the Simpson Speaker. Come and join us for a meeting and help us make a difference. We look forward to greeting you. Dotty Himelrick | History | Who
