July/August 2025

“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9:

Dear Friends,

“Summertime, and the livin’ is easy” goes the line from the Ella Fitzgerald song.

That is always the hope as we get into these lazy, hazy, days of Summer, but there is still much to do and much to look forward to!

As I write this, we are beginning a sermon series on the value of REST. We look at the need for balance among work, play, and rest. All are necessary!

We continue to move forward in the life of the church. We continue to have a great Men’s Study every Sunday at 10am and all of our men are welcome and encouraged to check it out. With great excitement, our Youth Group welcomed Lauren Magnus as an assistant leader, and we look forward to joint activities with our siblings at Belford.  We are also looking forward to another great VBS in July and our team has been hard at work putting it all together! We are also working toward a new model of administration in the life of the church, the One Board Church Model, or Simplified Accountable Structure. Our vision for this new model is that it will streamline our administration and free up lay servants for actively engaging in ministry. Stay tuned for more details as it takes shape.

We are also looking forward to our joint summer bible studies with our Belford family beginning on Wednesday July 23rd at the Keyport waterfront each month through September. As we continue our journey into this still new thing that God is doing, we continue to look forward to new ideas, new visions, and new ways in which we can be the church that Jesus needs us to be!

Let us continue to work together, all of us, in our stewardship, our outreach, our community engagement, and our witness.

Bring your ideas, your thoughts, your vision, your dreams of who we feel God is leading us to be.

We are the Family of God!

Have a summer of blessed rest, relaxation, time with family and friends, and time with your church family!

See you in church!

Pastor Kevin
